Frequently Asked Questions
What is Hemp CBD?
Information about Hemp CBD, Hemp Extracts, Cannabinoids, Hemp CBD oil and Bradley’s Brand.
What is Hemp CBD Oil?
CBD hemp oil is extracted from the stalks and seeds of industrial hemp plants. The plants used are specially bred to contain high concentrations of naturally occurring cannabidiol (CBD).
You CANNOT get ‘high’ or intoxicated by consuming CBD hemp oil or any whole, raw natural product from industrial hemp plants. Unlike medical marijuana, hemp does not contain the psychoactive properties of THC. Additionally, scientific research* has documented that CBD is actually anti-psychoactive.
Bradley’s Brand does not sell marijuana. Some oil products may contain less than .3% THC as required by law; they will be specified in the event that they do contain small traces.
In the USA the legal definition of “industrial hemp,” per Section 7606 of the Agricultural Appropriations Act of 2014, is “INDUSTRIAL HEMP — The term ‘‘industrial hemp’’ means the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part of such plant, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis.”
What’s the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?
Scientifically, industrial Hemp and Marijuana are the same plant, with a genus and species name of Cannabis Sativa. They have a drastically different genetic profile though. Industrial Hemp is always a strain of Cannabis sativa, while marijuana can be Cannabis.
Is Hemp CBD as good as CBD from marijuana?
The short answer is yes. CBD is CBD, whether from marijuana or hemp. Most marijuana has a very low non-psychoactive cannabinoid profile (like CBD, CBC, CBG), so most of the time hemp would be much more preferable for anything besides THC. Marijuana is usually very high in THC (gives people the high) but usually very low in other non-psychoactive cannabinoids.
What Are Benefits of CBD Oil?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is the most predominant cannabinoid in hemp, and has many beneficial properties.
In its patent (#6,630,507) titled CANNABINOIDS AS ANTIOXIDANTS AND NEUROPROTECTANTS, the U.S. federal government makes many impressive claims about CBD, stating that:
- “Cannabinoids are potent antioxidants… they easily penetrate tissues giving them the ability to enter the central nervous system and brain.”
- “Non-psychoactive cannabinoids such as CBD are particularly advantageous as they are non-toxic… and exhibit unique antioxidant properties without the undesirable effects of THC.”
- “The antioxidant strength of CBD is significantly greater than that of either Vitamin C or Vitamin E.”
What’s the percentage of cannabinoids and CBD in your product?
Our raw extracts have varying percentages of cannabinoid and cannabidiol (CBD) content, the range being 10%-99%. Each product has a unique formulation and uses varying ratios of our extract types. Our CBD Isolate based products are over 99% pure CBD. Each product will specify the MG amount of Hemp CBD in each bottle or product.
What is the safety of your hemp extracts? Are there negative side effects?
Hemp is considered by many to be generally safe. We’ve never seen or heard of any significant or negative side effects in our years in the industry. That said, we can’t rule them out. Please consult with your physician before using Hemp extract products.
Where do you source your hemp and CBD from?
Bradley’s Brand and Green Remedy products use Hemp CBD Oil grown and extracted in Kentucky.
What kind of testing/analysis is performed on your products?
We have third party laboratories analyze all of our hemp extracts and our final products for cannabinoid potency, heavy metals, bacterial and microbial life, mycotoxins (fungus), and pesticides.
What is the endocannabinoid system (ECS)?
“The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a group of endogenous cannabinoid receptors located in the mammalian brain and throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems, consisting of neuromodulatory lipids and their receptors.” Wikipedia
There are two main types of receptors in the ECS, CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are primarily located in the central nervous system and brains of mammals, and CB2 are generally found in the peripheral nervous system. For hundreds of millions of years every vertebrate on Earth has been equipped with this ECS, a crucial system in the body, and it has been known about in the scientific and medical communities since the 1980’s. However, it’s still not taught about in most medical schools.
Will I fail a drug test after using Hemp CBD Products.
We can never take the place of a lawyer or give you legal advice. Some drug testing search for Cannabinoids in general and some test specifically for Delta 9 THC. We always recommend taking our product in to the testing facility and to let them know that are using a hemp product. Many labs have the ability to send the test out for additional testing.
